Teaching for Social Justice: Student Empowerment and the Development of Critical Thinking FULL

This session is intended for middle and high school educators teaching social studies/history classes. Participants will explore essential concepts associated with social justice education and how to provoke successful deliberative discussions in their classrooms. The session will provide participants with an array of practical tools to discuss sensitive issues regarding race, ethnicity, social class, gender and religion. Educators will leave the session with a theoretical and practical understanding of social justice.
